2022 Rosabrook Tempranillo

Tasting Notes

WINEMAKER’S NOTE: An authentic style of Tempranillo with lifted black fruit, well resolved tannins and great length of flavour.

VINTAGE CONDITIONS:  A wet Spring followed by a dry and warm Summer made for early ripening and good flavour profile in red varieties. 2022 provided ideal conditions to allow Tempranillo to develop good tannin and colour intensity.

VINEYARDS: Our Tempranillo vineyards are in the warmer northern Margaret River zone with gravel soils over an ironstone base. All vines are vertically shoot positioned and run in north south aspect.

VINIFICATION: Machine picked grapes were fermented in static fermenter and pumped over daily. On dryness, the wine was pressed to seasoned American oak barrels. A 25% addition of carbonic maceration material was added after 10 months oak maturation.
